Cara Rosenbloom, RD – president

With over 1000 published nutrition-related articles to-date, Cara is a cross between a journalist and a dietitian. She has a literature degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food & Nutrition from Ryerson University. As the president of Words to Eat By, she merges her two passions — writing and nutrition — to educate and excite the public about healthy living.

Cara watches nutrition and food trends and follows the science, then consolidates the most important nutrition information into articles, lectures, recipes, soundbites and blogs that the public can understand. Her goal is to translate the complex world of nutrition into clear, concise and useful information for you and your family.

Cara’s work has been published in the Washington Post, Canadian Living, Allrecipes, Chatelaine, Healthline and Today’s Parent magazine; she blogs for Heart & Stroke and the American Institute for Cancer Research; and is the award-winning co-author of two books Nourish: Whole Food Recipes Featuring Seeds, Nuts and Beans. and Food to Grow On (a guide to feeding children).

Her love of pediatric nutrition grew from her earlier career as a dietitian at The Hospital for Sick Children (before starting Words to Eat By), and from feeding her two kids, Kasey and Aubrey.

As a seasoned presenter, Cara also brings her nutrition messages to schools, corporate lunch ‘n’ learns, cooking classes, conferences and TV programs across North America.

Cara is a member of Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Ontario and the US-based Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
